He crafts clear and simple ways to attack each scene with efficiency and depth. Not only will you have tools to better understand the script in front of you, but will build through your own authenticity, the work that only you can create. It was a blessing to find a teacher so dedicated and simplified in their approach. He pushes an actor toward the utmost truth, and will enlighten the inner life that every actor brings to the table. His experience as an actor within the work force is wisdom and knowledge, priceless to any actor. Any person looking to understand the craft will walk out of his class much richer in depth." Matthew Ballinger (The Deuce; 10,000Saints) "What a wild ride !! I can't thank you enough for being my coach and helping me get this job. Sending you everlasting gratitude. (dramatic, but true)! I always feel confident and prepared after every coaching session for auditions. Bob is the best!' Julia Udine, now performing as "Christine" in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway ******* "I have been fortunate to work with some great teachers and coaches throughout New York City but in the end I always go back to the training and experiences that I learned from Bob Verlaque. Bob is an amazing teacher, coach, mentor and an even better person which makes him someone you don't want to miss out working with. His knowledge and dedication to the craft is second to none. Bob always makes it fun and that is something that makes him special. I can honestly say that without Bob I would not be the actor I am today." Warren Bub, currently appearing as 'Marty' with Estelle Parsons in the stage adaptation of the film, Marty. ******* Bob's two-part audition class was eye-opening to me as a playwright. His advice to the actors about how to break down a script translated into crafting a script as well. His approach was specific and highly individualized. I've been writing plays for 25 years, yet Bob's class gave me added insight into crafting a script. His instruction about breaking down a script reinforced what I know and also made me think anew about elements which are necessary parts of the structure of a play. Seeing how actors approach a script was extremely helpful to me as a playwright. To craft a play we should ask ourselves many of the same questions an an actor. What is the opening moment of the play? Is that moment compelling? Is there a journey for each characters within each scene? What action does each line contain? What feelings are contained in the lines? Does the play flow moment to moment? Are you being specific? RobinRice Lichtig, award-winning playwright http://robinriceplaywright.com ........... |
