Robert has extensive work in theatre as an actor, in both New York and regional productions, and Europe. He is fortunate to have been actively involved in works in progress, developing new scripts with writers and directors at The Actors Studio, The Directors Company, Playwrights Horizons, Primary Stages Company, The Ensemble Studio Theater, New Dramatists, and Articulate Theatre Company, among many others. Robert balances his love of theatre and live performance with film and television work yet relishes the thrill of performing live in theatre. Recently, Robert received much critical acclaim for his portrayal of Cardinal Medeiros in Tom Dulack's brilliant "The Road to Damascus", which premiered at 59E59 Theatres under the inspired direction of Michael Parva and The Directors Company.

Robert completing two new exciting scripts . They are in the throes of readings, re-writes, stagings, all part of the exciting process of bringing to life a gift of the writer's imagination into the flesh and bones of live performance. With The Directors Company: a new play by the gifted Tom Dulack, "Prestissimo", a fascinating glimpse into the life and creative genius of Antonio Vivaldi. Dulack's rich language and passion is evident in this funny, moving and visceral telling of Vivaldi's life, known as the Red Priest for his blazing red hair, and his battles with the Inquisition, sex, censorship and a genius life that ended in premature death, poverty and obsolescence. Helmed by director Michael Parva, it is a gripping and often funny story enlivened by Dulack's rich command of language and stunning craft.

With The Actors Studio: a new play by playwright Julie Weinberg, "Bad Daughter" tells the tale of a young woman who returns home to deal with illness, her family, loss, and coming to terms with her future, sexuality, and growing up. Heart -wrenchingly funny and moving, Norma Medina directs and has been patiently guiding her writer and actors through the creative process, and plans are for a fully staged reading early June, followed by an Off-Broadway production in the 2016-2017 season.
